~*Jumping July*~

Jumping July, can you believe its already this far in the season? We've enjoyed the weather so much except for one week of intense heat. I was in the process of accomplishing a running program but had to take a hiatus due to health issues. Its still my goal to accomplish this program. Here's a few pictures of the latest happenings.

I now feel like Farmer McGregor must have felt.
Its me or the bunnies!

Yes, they are cute and fluffy and bound all over the yard but they are eating and breeding machines. They can have babies every 3 months! No fence can keep these critters out and I am sure that they were just waiting for the veggies to get to a certain height before they ate them right down to the ground!

I'm waging war against these critters and I do believe them to be a pest! If I could roast a rabbit for dinner I'd be thrilled...but alas, we live in "town" and can't kill the critters like I'd like to.

The battle continues.....

~*Summer*~

After a long abscence I am back! I can't believe its been this long since I last posted. However, after the adoption failure I needed a break which I am sure most can understand!

I am back now and happy for Summer and all it brings!

~*Update*~

Here's an update regarding our adoption.....

Sadly our adoption fell through, there is a *LOT* of political junk going on right now with the Foster Care system. We're considering backing away from a Foster Care adoption and looking at a Domestic Infant adoption.

Our agency is encouraging us to spread the word that we're looking for a baby to adopt because she's had a lot of clients that did that and through the channels came upon a birthmom ready to place! So, we're staying hopeful!

On my Facebook page I have pictures posted of our trip to Marquette and I'll add some on here this weekend....After our 8 hour drive we arrived in Marquette on Thurs. night and rested! Friday was spent with Devin's family, went to the Children's Museum, and the evening ended with going to the start of the Dog Sled races. (SO COOL!) Sat. we went to Kaleidoscope at Northerns Dome, which was FULL of activities for kids. Then we hiked Presque Isle in a FOOT of snow, its a 2 mile hike! Day ended with dinner with family....Sunday we drove the 8 hours home....Amazingly it never seems that long.

~*Happy Valentines Day*~

We do not ignore this minor "holiday" nor do we participate to the hilt.
We choose to put together a small craft for the children to enjoy and create homemade cards. The children are presented with a small love gift. This year I am creating this little number.

The craft is something for the birds. Bird seed, flour and water mixed together and pressed into heart shaped cookie cutters with a hole left for string. Baked at 170* for an hour till hard. String and hang for the birds!

We enjoy doing little things throughout the year yet do not feel obligated to provide V-Day treats to every Tom, Dick and Harriet we know.

Saturday morning we plan to do either breakfast in bed as a family or a pajama party picnic.
